Eureka!!

The last two weeks have gone by in a flash, all full of fun! First we had our 2 day convention in Muskogee, and besides the former tenants leaving the place smelling like puke and feet...it was great! Noah was such a little man, strutting around in his seersucker suit and commanding that everyone shake his hand.
It seemed to take me at least 2 days to recover from that trip, I was just sore all over from driving and sitting for the weekend, but of course, worth it!
So then we get to Thursday...which is about where the preparation for a weekend trip has to start when you have kids, or kid.
There was a time when a trip meant throw your clothes in a suitcase, and eat junk food for hours in the car until we arrived at our destination, and then stayed up half the night...also to eat junk food and drink beer, or whatever struck our fancy in the moment...my things have changed..ha ha
Now, I spend one entire day making sure every bit of clothing and bedding was laundered....and the entire next day making sure I had packed clothes, toys, plenty of diapers...plenty of wipes...sippy cups...and that the house is spotless for our return, you get the jest of it.
This day also includes a trip to the store to buy REAL food, then prep it all into perfectly portioned, conveniently stored snacks for the drive and for my own late night needs.
So after all that preparation (which always pays off), we were on our way to good old Eureka Springs, Ar. The town where no one seems to exist under 50yr or after 5pm.
We have visited this place many times over the past year since Josh's mom (Karen) now lives, and runs an antique store here, but this trip was somehow different.
We started by checking into the hotel, making the bed (yes, I brought my own bedding, and I am not ashamed. Totally worth it! ha ha)and just laid there for a good 20 minutes. It was glorious! Noah was so enthralled with the tiny hotel room, with it's strange box shaped TV, and phone that had these mysterious wires and buttons, that he entertained himself. We literally just layed on the bed and talked, without any dishes to worry about, or a care in the world. So the trip followed that general theme, something about just having so much time alone to talk and just be together made it great. Apparently that's something we have been missing, and hadn't even noticed much until now! I immediately found the most perfect vintage dress for Willow's newborn pictures, I had been searching for it everywhere, and there it was right in Karen's store! That alone...would have been worth the drive!
Sunday we were able to visit the local congregation, which is always great. We try to make that a goal no matter where in the world we go, and you always leave with a few new friends, its amazing. Noah made a new friend named Chloe, who was adorable, we hope to have a play date with her next time!
Josh had booked me a massage for that evening as a surprise, and it was amazing! It was at the Crescent Hotel, it was so nice to visit a spa again!
Monday we were lazy, hung around on the back deck of the store for breakfast, and then packed up and made our way home.
Noah was so exhausted he went to sleep at 6pm and Josh and I took that last few hours of our mini vacation to continue laying around together and conversing.
All in all, it was beautiful weather, we met some new people we hope to visit again. We found a little piece of our relationship that we were leaving out, and we came home feeling like we had a bit of perspective! I think now it's time to plan our next weekend getaway as soon as possible!

To finish off, Tuesday afternoon we went to our prenatal checkup to see our baby girl Willow! Yes, it's officially Willow! Yay!
28 Weeks Willow
28 Weeks Noah
She is right on track with growth, not too small...and not too big. Noah was already quite large at 28 weeks, so hopefully baby girl will be a little more average, but I guess I shouldn't worry. I did it once, I will do it again!

(I do have a picture or two to add later! Promise!)
